THE REASON WHY KANYE WEST REFUSES BIRDMAN'S DEAL

Kanye West has had a trying childhood, with his parents divorcing while he was just three. Having dropped out of high school to pursue his musical career, he made an entrance into the music industry by making hip hop beats for local artists. Soon, Kanye West was making tracks for top artists of the time such as Jermaine Dupri, Lil’ Kim, and Foxy Brown, according to Rolling Stone.
However, putting together the beat for Jay Z’s “This Can’t Be Life,” cemented his career. Fast forward to the present, Kanye West is said to have a net worth of around $130 million and has one of the most popular celebrities in the world — Kim Kardashian — as a wife.
Speaking of him and Kim Kardashian, it is said that when Kanye West first met Kim, he immediately fell in love with the reality star. This is reference to a statement by Khloe Kardashain at a ladies-only dinner held at Hotel Costes days before the wedding. The following was the exact statement.
“Kanye has been in love with Kim since the moment he first saw her. I know I was there.”
“He was staring at Kim at this party like she was Cleopatra, he could not stop looking at her. He would always say to me ”I know this is something your sister has to go through but I am going to be here waiting,”’ according to the Daily Mail.
At the dinner, Kim also offered that when they first met, Kanye called her and they talked on the phone for eight hours. However, she told Kanye West that even though they had a “connection,” she had a boyfriend. It seems his patience paid off in the end.
On to the scoop about Kanye refusing a contract with Cash Money, it all began when Mikkey Halsted, who used to collaborate with the star at the beginning of his career, got a call informing him that Cash Money was in town (Chicago) on a tour and wanted to sign him and his crew, which included Kanye West.
According to MTV, a friend of Halsted’s cousin, who hung out with Birdman, had said good things about him and immediately, the Cash Money founder wanted a contract with him.
“I said, ‘Kanye, man, they wanna fly me out and I told them they got to fly you out, too.’ So Kanye went to New Orleans, brought all of the music from all the artists, and calls me and says, ‘Man, they offering me a deal for everybody on Konman Productions. Everybody. Me, your sister, myself, Go Getters, the whole nine. They just wanna make it like Cash Money Midwest.'”
However, Kanye declined the offer saying, “Man, I’m not going to sign with Cash Money because it’s a little too street, the vibe is a little too much and they really want you anyway, Mik. It’s like they just taking everybody because of you.”
Kanye West soon after signed with Roc-A-Fella.
